The PFERD 61235 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on stainless steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter and 0.185 inches thick, it mounts via a 5/8-11 threaded arbor and is rated to a maximum of 13,300 RPM. The wheel uses a 46-grit aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a resinoid bond, delivering a balance of cut rate and surface finish suited to weld grinding, deburring, and surface conditioning tasks. It is a standard consumable used by fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance trades on angle grinders in shop and field environments.
This wheel is suited for use on stainless steel applications where contamination-free grinding is required. The Type 27 profile, with its raised hub and flat grinding face, is the standard configuration for angle grinder work including weld blending, edge dressing, and surface stock removal. The 5/8-11 threaded connection is the most common arbor size on 4.5-inch angle grinders, making this wheel broadly applicable across standard portable grinder platforms used in fabrication shops, mechanical rooms, and construction sites.
Designed for use with standard 4.5-inch angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. Suitable for grinding stainless steel per the manufacturer-stated material application.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by qualified personnel with the grinder disconnected from power. Always verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 13,300 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never use a damaged wheel. Use the correct flange and wrench for the 5/8-11 threaded mount and follow ANSI B7.1 safe practices for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
