The PFERD 47801343 is a mounted flap wheel designed for use with straight grinders in metalworking and surface finishing applications. It features a 2-inch outside diameter and a 1-inch face width, with a 1/4-inch shank diameter and a 1-1/2-inch shank length. The wheel uses coated aluminum oxide abrasive on a cloth backing at 60 grit, placing it in the medium grade range. Rated to a maximum of 23,000 RPM, it delivers consistent material removal and blending across a wide range of metal substrates. Machinists, fabricators, and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of wheel for detail grinding and contour finishing in hard-to-reach areas.
This mounted flap wheel is suited for both shop and field metalworking tasks where a straight grinder is the tool of choice. Designed for use with straight grinders accepting a 1/4-inch shank. Installation is performed by a machinist or metal fabricator using a straight grinder with a compatible 1/4-inch collet. Before mounting, confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the 23,000 RPM maximum rating of the wheel and that the spindle is fully de-energized and locked out prior to chuck engagement. Do not exceed the maximum RPM stamped or listed on the wheel. Inspect the flap wheel for damage before each use and discard any wheel showing signs of delamination or core cracking.
