The PFERD 42758007 is a 2-inch diamond abrasive quick-change disc designed for grinding and finishing applications on hard or abrasive materials. It uses a CDR quick-change attachment system with a Type R interface, allowing fast disc swaps without additional tools. The abrasive surface is coated diamond at a 60-grit grade (D251), suited for aggressive stock removal on hard substrates such as carbide, ceramic, or hardened steel. The disc is fiber-backed for rigidity during use and is rated to a maximum of 7,500 RPM. It weighs approximately 0.1 pounds and is sold individually.
This disc is appropriate for metalworking tradespeople, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians who work with hard materials requiring diamond abrasion. The 2-inch diameter makes it suitable for use in tight clearances or on small workpieces where a larger disc would not seat properly. Typical applications include grinding tungsten carbide tooling, deburring hardened components, and surface conditioning operations where conventional aluminum oxide or zirconia abrasives underperform.
Designed for use with CDR quick-change tool holders and grinders equipped with a Type R attachment interface. Verify that the tool holder and grinder are rated to accept 2-inch quick-change discs and are capable of operating at or below 7,500 RPM before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or metalworking technician using a compatible CDR Type R mandrel mounted in an angle grinder or die grinder. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed 7,500 RPM, as operating above the rated speed creates a risk of disc failure. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and discard any disc that shows signs of deterioration.
