The PFERD 42740009 is a 2-inch diamond-coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for precision surface finishing and material removal on hard or abrasive workpiece materials. This disc uses a Type S attaching system with CD quick-change compatibility, allowing fast one-handed disc swaps without additional tooling. It carries a 220 grit rating, placing it in the fine finishing range suited for light stock removal, deburring, and surface prep. The fiber backing provides stability during operation, and the disc is rated for a maximum of 7,500 RPM. At 0.1 pounds, it is a lightweight consumable intended for handheld angle grinders and die grinders used by machinists, fabricators, and tool-and-die professionals.
This disc is suited for fine finishing applications on hard metals, ceramics, carbide, and other materials that resist conventional abrasive grains. The diamond abrasive material makes it appropriate for applications where aluminum oxide or zirconia grits would wear prematurely. Typical use cases include weld blending, precision deburring, and surface conditioning in fabrication shops, tool rooms, and maintenance environments. It is sold individually and is a single-use consumable.
Compatible with CD quick-change disc holders and Type S attaching systems on angle grinders and die grinders that accept 2-inch quick-change accessories.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 7,500 RPM maximum rating before mounting. This disc is intended for use by trained metalworking professionals familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use on workpiece materials outside the disc's intended application range.
