The PFERD 33575 is a W179-style vitrified mounted point designed for precision grinding and surface finishing on steel and hard metals. The abrasive wheel is bonded with a vitrified matrix, which provides consistent stock removal and a stable cutting action throughout the life of the point. The aluminum oxide grain at 46 grit delivers aggressive material removal suited to deburring, weld grinding, and contour work. The 1/4 inch shank fits standard die grinder and rotary tool collets, making it a practical choice for machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working in tight or hard-to-reach areas.
This mounted point is intended for use on ferrous metals, particularly steel edges and weld zones where controlled grinding is required. The W179 shape suits applications where the side and face of the wheel both need to contact the workpiece, such as inside bores, cavities, or along profiled edges. It is a common tool in metal fabrication shops, tool-and-die operations, and industrial maintenance environments where die grinders are standard equipment.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools fitted with a 1/4 inch collet. Intended for steel edge grinding applications as an OEM-style vitrified mounted point replacement or direct tooling selection.
Mounted points of this type are installed and removed by a licensed or trained machinist or fabricator using the appropriate collet wrench for the die grinder in use. Always power down and disconnect the tool from its air or electrical source before changing abrasive accessories. Inspect the mounted point for cracks or chips before each use and never exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the wheel or its packaging. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during grinding operations per ANSI B7.1 guidelines.
