The PFERD 21823112 is a carbide abrasive bur with a cylinder head profile and double-cut tooth pattern, designed for material removal, deburring, and surface finishing in metalworking and fabrication applications. The cutting diameter measures 3/32 inches with a 1/8-inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tools. The double-cut configuration produces a finer finish than single-cut burs while still removing material efficiently. Rated to 120,000 RPM, this bur handles high-speed work without deflection. The uncoated carbide head provides consistent hardness and wear resistance across a range of base materials.
This bur is suited for use in tight cavities and confined areas where a small-diameter cylinder profile is required. Common applications include weld cleanup, port matching, gasket surface preparation, and deburring drilled or cast holes. It is typically used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, pipefitters, and fabricators working with steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar metals. The 1/2-inch length of cut and 1-1/2-inch overall length make it practical for both shallow surface work and moderate-depth cavity work.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools accepting a 1/8-inch shank collet. Conforms to SA-42 industry specification for cylinder-style carbide burs.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or fabricators familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the shank fully into the collet and verify the collet nut is tightened before use. Always confirm the tool and spindle RPM rating meets or exceeds the 120,000 RPM maximum before operating. Wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is firmly secured before engaging the bur.
