The PFERD 19607152 is a Swiss-pattern half round file designed for precision filing and finishing work on metal surfaces. At 6 inches overall length with a Cut 0 (bastard-coarse) tooth pattern, it removes material efficiently while maintaining control on curved and flat surfaces. The half round profile gives the technician two working faces: a flat side for flat surfaces and a curved side for concave profiles, grooves, and radiused cuts. This file is rated for stainless steel application and is used by machinists, pipefitters, fabricators, and maintenance technicians who need consistent stock removal on hard or corrosion-resistant alloys.
This file fits standard filing tasks in industrial maintenance, fabrication shops, and field service environments. The tang end accepts most standard file handles sold separately. At 9/32 inches wide and 5/32 inches thick, the profile is compact enough for detail work in tight clearances while still providing adequate cutting surface for general deburring and shaping. It is well suited for work on stainless steel pipe, fittings, brackets, and fabricated components where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter.
Designed as a standard Swiss-pattern hand file for use on stainless steel and comparable hard metals. Accepts any standard file handle sized for a tang-style file.
Always fit a proper handle onto the tang before use to prevent hand injury from an exposed tang during filing. Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when filing metal. Keep the file clean with a file card to maintain cutting efficiency and prevent material buildup from loading the teeth. Files are hardened tools and should not be used to pry or strike, as they are brittle and can fracture.
