The PENTAIR 155763-43 is a thermally bonded polypropylene cartridge filter designed for plumbing filtration applications where sediment removal is the primary objective. Rated at 5 microns, it captures fine particulate matter including silt, rust, and sand before it can reach downstream fixtures, valves, or equipment. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 30 inches in length, fitting standard 30-inch filter housings. Constructed from polypropylene with a polypropylene plastic core, it is rated for maximum working temperatures up to 175 degrees F. Installation and replacement are typically performed by licensed plumbers or water treatment technicians.
This cartridge filter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where whole-house or point-of-entry sediment filtration is required. It is commonly installed in a single-stage or multi-stage filter housing as the first line of defense against particulate contamination in supply lines. The thermal bonding construction eliminates the use of binders or adhesives, which helps maintain consistent filtration throughout the service life of the cartridge. It is appropriate for cold and hot water lines within its rated temperature range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 30-inch plumbing filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter cartridge.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Always shut off the supply water and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing o-ring for wear or damage at each cartridge change and replace as needed. Do not exceed the cartridge maximum temperature rating of 175 degrees F.
