The PENN MACHINE 2500301001 is a forged carbon steel pipe cap from the 03010 series, designed to close off the end of a threaded pipe run. Manufactured to ASME B16.11 standards, it carries a 3000 lb pressure class rating and a Schedule 160 wall thickness rating, making it suited for high-pressure industrial and mechanical piping systems. The female NPT (FNPT) end conforms to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1-1983 for reliable thread engagement. At 1.28 pounds, this cap is a solid, single-piece forged fitting intended for permanent or long-term pipe termination by licensed pipefitters, plumbers, and mechanical contractors.
This fitting is used to terminate 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe in high-pressure fluid and gas systems where a threaded closure is required. Typical applications include industrial process piping, steam lines, hydraulic systems, and commercial plumbing headers where pressure integrity is critical. The forged carbon steel construction and ASTM A105 material compliance make it appropriate for both above-ground and in-wall installations in demanding mechanical environments. Canadian Registration is confirmed across all provinces, and PED certification supports use in applicable pressure equipment directive applications.
Designed for use with 1-1/4 inch nominal threaded pipe systems rated for 3000 lb class fittings per ASME B16.11. Compatible with Schedule 160 and heavier pipe in carbon steel threaded piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical codes, including ASME B31.1 or B31.3 as applicable to the system. De-pressurize and isolate the pipe section completely before threading on the cap. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before engagement. Do not over-tighten with power tools on threaded fittings — hand-tight plus wrench turns per standard practice is sufficient to achieve a leak-free seal without damaging the threads.
