The PAXTON ACCESS INC. 400-150-US is a proximity mullion reader designed for access control applications in commercial and institutional facilities. This slim-profile reader mounts directly to door mullions or narrow frame surfaces and reads HID-compatible proximity credentials, including standard prox cards and key fobs. It communicates with an access control panel to grant or deny entry based on presented credentials. Licensed security integrators and low-voltage technicians typically supply and install this type of reader as part of a broader door access system.
The 400-150-US is suited for interior and light-duty exterior mullion installations where a full-size reader housing is not practical. Its slim form factor fits narrow door frames and glass mullion profiles common in office buildings, schools, and commercial facilities. It is designed to work within HID-based proximity card ecosystems, making it a compatible fit for sites already running HID infrastructure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation proximity mullion reader for HID-compatible access control systems in commercial door hardware applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or security integrator familiar with access control wiring practices. Power down the access control panel and disconnect the door strike circuit before wiring the reader. Follow local low-voltage codes and the access control manufacturer wiring guidelines when making reader-to-panel connections. Do not mount in locations subject to direct water exposure unless the housing is rated for outdoor use.
