The PASS SEYMOUR RCD38TRWCC6 is a Radiant-series decorator combination device that integrates a single-pole switch and a 15-amp tamper-resistant receptacle into one unit. Rated at 15A and 120/125 volts, it is designed for residential and light commercial wiring applications where a single wall box must serve both a switched load and a grounded outlet simultaneously. The impact-resistant face and body provide long-term durability in high-traffic locations. Licensed electricians install this device during new construction or retrofit work wherever code or design calls for a combo device in a standard decorator-style plate opening.
This combo device suits residential bedroom, hallway, and living-space installations where a switched lighting circuit and a utility outlet share one gang box. The tamper-resistant shutter mechanism meets NEC requirements for child-safe receptacle protection in dwelling units. It is back-wired and side-wired, accepting 12 AWG and 14 AWG copper conductors. The fully rounded rear body reduces the risk of insulation damage when folding conductors into the box. A full wrap-around metal strap with lock-in tabs ensures secure, aligned mounting in standard single-gang boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style combination switch-receptacle replacement for standard single-gang decorator wiring devices in residential and light commercial electrical systems. Compatible with patented Snap-In Light Tm8lmcc and TV 108-745 accessories, sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the current NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before making any connections. Back-wire connections use the external screw pressure plate; do not use push-in backstab terminals on circuits where the pressure-plate terminals are populated. Confirm conductor gauge matches the circuit overcurrent protection before completing the installation.
