Built to NEMA 14-30 configuration, it provides a 3-pole, 4-wire grounding connection that meets current NEC requirements for dryer circuits. The outlet features double-wipe contacts made from a high-performance copper-based alloy, which improves contact reliability and reduces resistance over time. It is UL Listed and specifically approved for use with aluminum wiring, making it suitable for older residential panels where aluminum branch circuit conductors are present. Licensed electricians are the typical installers for this device.
This outlet is intended for flush-mount installation in a standard window box configuration. It is designed for dedicated 30-amp dryer branch circuits in residential settings and can be used in new construction or service replacement work. The NEMA 14-30 configuration is the current standard for residential electric dryer circuits, providing a separate ground conductor compared to the older 3-wire NEMA 10-30 configuration. Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. The NEMA 14-30 outlet requires a dedicated 30-amp, 240-volt circuit with a separate ground conductor. Do not use this outlet as a replacement for NEMA 10-30 without first verifying that the branch circuit includes a separate equipment grounding conductor.
