It is designed for use in residential and light commercial branch circuits where ground-fault protection is required by code. The receptacle features an audible alarm that sounds when the device has tripped or failed a self-test cycle, giving installers and occupants a clear indication that protection is no longer active. The high-impact-resistant thermoplastic body holds up to the physical demands of everyday installation. This package contains 4 receptacles. This GFCI receptacle is suited for kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoor outlets, unfinished basements, crawl spaces, and other locations specified under NEC Article 210.8. The decorator form factor fits standard single-gang and multi-gang wallplates. The tamper-resistant shutter mechanism blocks insertion of foreign objects into a single slot, meeting NEC requirements for tamper resistance in dwelling units. The Safelock protection feature prevents the receptacle from being wired in a way that bypasses GFCI protection on downstream outlets.

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and all applicable local codes.
