The PASCO 56676 is a reducing spud fitting used to connect a toilet or flush valve to a closet flange or tank outlet where the inlet and outlet sizes differ. This fitting reduces from a 2-inch connection down to a 1-1/4-inch connection, allowing installation in plumbing assemblies where a direct-size match is not available. Plumbers and plumbing contractors install this type of fitting during toilet rough-in work, flush valve service, or drain assembly repairs. The reducing spud provides a secure, leak-resistant transition between two different pipe or fitting diameters in drain and flush applications.
This reducing spud is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch size transition is required. Typical install scenarios include toilet tank-to-bowl connections, flush valve replacements, and drain outlet fittings where reducing the outlet diameter is necessary to match existing plumbing. It is appropriate for use in new construction rough-in as well as service and repair work on existing fixtures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement reducing spud for residential and light commercial plumbing fixtures requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch outlet transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and flush the system to relieve pressure before removing or replacing any flush valve or spud fitting. Inspect the seating surface and gasket before installation to ensure a leak-free seal. Do not overtighten threaded or slip connections, as this can crack porcelain fixtures or damage fitting threads.
