The PARLEC ER16-0156 is an ER16 series collet designed for precision workholding in CNC machining and manual milling applications. It accepts tooling up to 0.156 inches in diameter with a minimum collet capacity of 0.117 inches, giving it a clamping range suited for small-diameter end mills, drills, and reamers. The collet measures 1.082 inches in overall length and 0.669 inches in overall diameter. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into compatible ER16 collet chucks to secure cutting tools with consistent runout control and axial rigidity.
This collet is used in light to medium-duty machining centers, CNC lathes with live tooling, and benchtop milling machines where the ER16 standard is specified. It is suited for high-speed spindle applications where compact toolholding and repeatable tool changes are required. The 0.156-inch capacity makes it a common choice for small-diameter carbide and HSS tooling used in precision part production and prototype work.
Designed as a standard ER16 series collet for use with any ER16-compatible collet chuck or toolholder conforming to the ER16 collet standard.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. The collet should be seated fully into the collet nut before inserting the cutting tool, then torqued to the chuck manufacturer's specified value using an appropriate collet nut wrench. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing collets. Inspect the collet bore and seating surface for chips or damage before each use.
