The PARLEC C40-12SM2 is a CAT40 taper shank shell mill holder designed for use on CNC machining centers. It accepts shell mills through a 1.25-inch pilot diameter and features a 2.75-inch nose diameter with a 2.25-inch projection from flange to nose end. The holder is balanced to 30,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed milling operations. Lock screw thread size is 5/8-18, using lock screw model 12LS. Total Indicated Runout (TIR) is rated at 0.0002 inches, delivering the concentricity precision that production milling work demands. Installed by CNC machinists and tool-crib technicians in job shop and production environments.

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an E-stop or locked-out state. Use a proper CAT40 pull stud matched to the machine spindle draw bar specification before mounting. Torque the lock screw to the shell mill manufacturer's specification using the correct hex key. Verify TIR with a dial indicator after mounting before initiating any cut.
