The PARKER XVVP500P-4 is a standard vented manual ball valve designed for inline shutoff and pressure-relief venting in fluid and gas piping systems. Built with a brass body and brass trim, it connects via female NPT threads on both ends and operates with a padlock-style handle for lockout-tagout compliance. The valve is rated to 250 psi working pressure and handles temperatures from 0 degrees F to 350 degrees F. Seating and seal surfaces use reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which resists chemical degradation and provides reliable shutoff across a wide range of media. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of valve.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic piping, compressed air lines, and other low-to-medium pressure fluid handling systems where a vented ball valve is required. The FNPT x FNPT end configuration fits standard threaded pipe runs in 1/4 inch nominal pipe size. The padlock handle feature makes it appropriate for systems requiring lockout-tagout procedures during service or maintenance intervals.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation valve for standard 1/4 inch FNPT threaded pipe systems in plumbing, HVAC hydronic, and compressed air applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements. Depressurize and drain the affected line before removing or installing any threaded valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before making up the connection and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate additional turns per pipe material without over-torquing the brass body. Verify no leaks under system pressure before returning the line to service.
