Product Description

The PARKER XV509P-8 is a 2-piece standard manual ball valve rated for up to 600 psi working pressure, designed for use in plumbing and hydronic systems where a reliable shutoff is required. The body and trim are brass, making it well suited for copper tubing installations with solder end connections on both ports. The lever handle is steel and provides a positive quarter-turn open/close action. Seating and seal material is reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which offers chemical resistance and long service life. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this valve type in both new construction and service work.

This valve is used in residential and light commercial applications where 1/2 inch copper pipe is the distribution medium. Typical install scenarios include domestic water supply shutoffs, hydronic heating branch lines, and refrigeration or chilled water secondary loop isolation. The soldered x soldered end connections require a standard sweat joint process using copper fittings and appropriate flux and solder per local code requirements. It is not rated for use with threaded or press-fit systems without adaptation.

Installation Notes
