The PARKER WC39R20S is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed to remove sediment and particulate matter from water supply lines. Built from acetate cotton wound over a stainless steel core, it delivers a 1 micron absolute filtration rating — suitable for applications requiring tight particulate control. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 20 inches in length, fitting standard filter housings designed for that size class. Rated for service up to 250 degrees F, it handles both cold and hot water plumbing circuits. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This cartridge filter is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems, whole-house filtration installations, and point-of-entry sediment reduction setups. The 1 micron rating makes it appropriate for pre-filtration ahead of reverse osmosis units, UV sterilizers, or other sensitive downstream equipment where fine particulate control is required. The acetate cotton string-wound construction provides depth filtration, capturing particles throughout the media rather than only at the surface, which extends service intervals compared to surface-only filter types.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 2.5 inch OD, 20 inch filter housings used in residential and commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace it if worn before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated temperature or pressure specifications for the housing in use.
