The PARKER WC23R30A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 30 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter and delivers 5-micron filtration through an acetate cotton wound media. The polypropylene plastic core supports the wound structure under flow. This filter is rated for a maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F, making it suitable for cold and cool water service lines. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the typical installers for this type of cartridge.
This filter is used in residential and light commercial water filtration systems where sediment control is required ahead of sensitive equipment such as water heaters, boilers, RO membranes, or fixtures. The 5-micron rating captures fine particulate including silt, sand, rust, and scale. At 30 inches, this is a standard big-blue or high-capacity housing format suited for higher-flow applications where extended service intervals are a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for string-wound cartridge filter housings accepting a 2.5-inch OD, 30-inch cartridge in residential and commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing the filter housing. Inspect the housing o-ring for wear and replace if needed before seating the new cartridge. Follow local IPC requirements for potable water applications and verify that housing and cartridge materials are rated for the intended service conditions.
