The PARKER WC23R20A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. Constructed from acetate cotton with a polypropylene plastic core, this filter delivers 5-micron particulate removal across a 20-inch length and 2.5-inch outside diameter. The string-wound construction creates a graded density that traps sediment, dirt, rust, and scale particles throughout the depth of the media rather than just on the surface. It is sized for standard 2.5-inch filter housings and is installed by licensed plumbers or water treatment technicians in residential and light commercial systems.
This cartridge filter is suited for potable water pre-filtration, process water treatment, and point-of-entry sediment reduction. The 5-micron rating makes it effective upstream of carbon blocks, reverse osmosis membranes, and UV systems where coarse sediment must be removed first. The acetate cotton media is appropriate for cold and warm water lines up to 120 degrees F. It fits standard big-blue or slim-line 20-inch filter housings commonly found in residential and small commercial installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 20-inch string-wound cartridge filter housings accepting a 2.5-inch outside diameter cartridge.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for potable water filtration installations. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F.
