The PARKER WC23R10S is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter rated at 5 microns, designed for sediment removal in water filtration systems. Constructed from acetate cotton wound over a stainless steel core, it measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 10 inches in length. The stainless steel core provides structural rigidity under pressure and flow conditions, while the acetate cotton media captures particulate across a range of water supply applications. This filter handles operating temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water service lines. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers of this filter type.
The WC23R10S is suited for residential and light commercial point-of-entry or point-of-use water filtration systems. It installs into standard whole-house filter housings, inline sediment filter assemblies, and pre-filtration stages upstream of softeners, RO units, or other treatment equipment. The 5-micron rating targets fine sediment, silt, sand, and rust particles common in municipal and well water supplies. Its 10-inch length fits the most widely used standard filter housing size in plumbing filtration systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 10-inch string-wound cartridge filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing filtration applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or damage and replace if needed before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the temperature or pressure ratings of the filter housing assembly when returning the system to service.
