The PARKER WC23R10A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 10 inches in length, with a 5-micron rating that captures sediment, sand, rust, and particulate from potable and process water lines. The filter media is acetate cotton wound over a polypropylene plastic core. The string-wound construction creates a gradient density from the outer layers to the core, improving dirt-holding capacity and extending service life between changeouts. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians typically install this filter in standard filter housings.
This cartridge is suited for residential and light commercial water treatment systems where sediment reduction at 5 microns is required. Common applications include pre-filtration ahead of water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and point-of-entry installations. The 10-inch length fits widely available standard sump-style filter housings. Maximum working temperature is rated at 120 degrees F, making it appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature water service lines. It is not rated for hot water or steam applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 10-inch sump-style filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing water treatment systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear and replace if necessary to prevent leaks after reassembly. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes when installing or servicing inline water filtration equipment.
