The PARKER WC19R20S is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 20 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter and delivers 10-micron filtration using an acetate cotton winding over a stainless steel core. This construction provides depth filtration that traps sediment, rust, sand, and particulate matter as water passes through successive layers of wound media. The acetate cotton material is rated for fluid temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water service lines. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers.
This filter cartridge is suited for residential and light commercial water filtration systems where sediment control is required ahead of sensitive fixtures, appliances, or downstream equipment. Typical installations include whole-house filter housings, point-of-entry systems, and pre-filtration stages before softeners, RO units, or water heaters. The 10-micron rating targets fine particulate while maintaining reasonable flow rates through the system. The stainless steel core resists corrosion and maintains structural integrity under sustained water pressure service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install cartridge for standard 20-inch plumbing filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridge.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the supply water and depressurize the filter housing before removing the sump to replace the cartridge. Inspect housing o-rings for wear or damage at each cartridge change and lubricate with a water-safe o-ring lubricant before reassembly. Flush the system after installation to purge any loose media from the new cartridge before returning to service.
