The PARKER WC15R30 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It is constructed from acetate cotton wound around a tinned steel core, producing a depth-filtration matrix that captures sediment, dirt, and particulate matter at a 20 micron rating. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 30 inches in length, making it compatible with standard multi-round housing systems. With a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, this filter suits both cold and hot water service lines. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the typical installers.
This cartridge is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where sediment reduction is required ahead of water heaters, softeners, reverse osmosis systems, or other point-of-entry and point-of-use equipment. The 20 micron rating targets coarse-to-medium particulate, making it well suited as a pre-filter stage in multi-stage treatment trains. Its 30 inch length provides extended service intervals compared to standard 10 or 20 inch cartridges, reducing changeout frequency in higher-flow or higher-turbidity applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 2.5 inch outside diameter, 30 inch string-wound cartridge filter housings used in residential and commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing o-ring for wear or damage and replace if needed before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F during operation.
