The PARKER WC15R20S is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 2-1/2 inches in outside diameter and 20 inches in length, with a 20-micron rating that captures sediment, sand, rust, and particulate from water supply lines. The filter body is constructed from acetate cotton wound over a stainless steel core, combining depth filtration efficiency with structural integrity at elevated temperatures. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this cartridge in standard filter housings as part of whole-house or point-of-entry filtration systems.
This cartridge is suited for residential and light commercial water filtration where sediment control is required upstream of softeners, boilers, fixtures, or appliances. The 20-micron rating targets coarser particulate loads, making it appropriate as a first-stage or pre-filter in multi-stage systems. The acetate cotton string-wound construction provides gradual pore density from the outer surface inward, extending service life by trapping larger particles at the surface and finer particles deeper in the media. It is rated for water temperatures up to 250 degrees F, supporting use in hot-water supply applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 2-1/2 inch outside diameter, 20-inch cartridge filter housings used in residential and commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Follow the housing manufacturer's torque guidance when reassembling the sump to avoid cracking. Verify the cartridge seats flush against both end caps inside the housing before returning the system to service.
