The PARKER WC15R20 is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed to remove sediment and particulate from water lines in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. It measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 20 inches in length, with a 20-micron rating that targets sand, silt, scale, and rust particles. The filter body is constructed from acetate cotton wound over a tinned steel core, providing structural rigidity and compatibility with a wide range of water temperatures up to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this filter as part of point-of-entry or point-of-use filtration assemblies.
This cartridge is suited for standard 20-inch big-blue or equivalent filter housings used in residential whole-house filtration, irrigation pre-filtration, and light commercial water treatment applications. The 20-micron rating makes it an appropriate first-stage filter where coarse sediment removal is the primary goal before water moves downstream to finer filtration stages or treatment equipment. It is sold individually and is intended as a serviceable replacement cartridge on a regular maintenance cycle.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 20-inch string-wound filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing filtration systems.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or damage and replace if needed before reinstalling the housing cap. Do not exceed the rated working temperature of the cartridge.
