The PARKER WC11R20A is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed to remove sediment, dirt, rust, and particulate matter from water supply lines. It carries a 50 micron rating and measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter by 20 inches in length. The filter media is acetate cotton wound over a polypropylene plastic core, giving it a graduated density structure that traps particles throughout the depth of the media rather than only at the surface. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this type of filter in residential and light commercial water filtration housings as a primary or pre-filter stage.
This cartridge is suited for residential potable water systems, well water applications, and light commercial supply lines where sediment control is required upstream of softeners, reverse osmosis units, or other water treatment equipment. The 50 micron rating handles coarse particulate loads effectively. The 20 inch length fits standard big-blue or comparable filter housings designed for this cartridge size. Maximum working temperature is 120 degrees F, making it appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature water service lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 2.5 inch OD by 20 inch string-wound filter housings used in residential and light commercial water filtration systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician. Shut off the supply water and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace it if worn before reinstalling the cap. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC guidelines, for potable water filtration components.
