The PARKER WC11R20 is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed for sediment removal in water filtration systems. Wound from acetate cotton over a tinned steel core, it captures particulates at a 50 micron rating. The cartridge measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 20 inches in length, fitting standard 20-inch filter housings. It handles service temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this cartridge in whole-house, commercial, and point-of-entry filtration applications.
The WC11R20 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where sediment, sand, rust, and scale particles must be filtered ahead of fixtures, water heaters, or downstream equipment. Its 50 micron rating targets coarser particulate loads, making it a practical first-stage filter choice in multi-stage systems. The acetate cotton string-wound construction provides depth filtration, trapping particles throughout the media rather than only at the surface, which extends service life in high-sediment environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 20-inch plumbing filter housings that accept 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridges.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Inspect housing O-rings and replace them if worn before inserting the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated service temperature of the cartridge to avoid media degradation or housing damage.
