The PARKER VS279AB-4-4 is a brass compression tube male 45 degree elbow fitting designed for fluid and pneumatic line connections in mobile, industrial, and trade applications. It connects a compression tube end to a male NPTF threaded port at a 45 degree angle, allowing directional routing in tight plumbing or pneumatic assemblies. Rated to 400 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles demanding service conditions. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fleet mechanics commonly install this type of fitting where rigid tubing must transition to a threaded port with a change in direction.
This fitting is suited for use in hydraulic brake lines, pneumatic control circuits, fuel delivery systems, and refrigerant or fluid transfer lines where a 45 degree offset is required at a male NPTF port. The compression end accepts tubing with a 0.189-inch inside diameter. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial system installations, as well as mobile equipment and vehicle brake system applications where D.O.T. FMVSS571.106 and SAE J246 compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for fluid and pneumatic lines requiring a 1/4-18 NPTF male threaded port connection with a 45 degree tube offset, conforming to D.O.T. FMVSS571.106 and SAE J246 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, HVAC technician, or fleet mechanic familiar with compression fitting assembly. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Do not overtighten compression fittings; follow standard trade practice for compression nut engagement to avoid deforming the ferrule. Verify thread compatibility with the mating NPTF port before assembly to prevent cross-threading or leaks.
