The PARKER V304C-4-2 is a compression-to-male-pipe drain cock shutoff valve designed for low-pressure fluid systems requiring a reliable manual shutoff and drain point. Built with a brass body, this valve accepts a 1/4 inch compression tube on one end and connects to a 1/8 inch male pipe thread on the other, using a 1/8-27 thread form. Rated to a maximum of 30 psi, it is suited for draining condensate, low-pressure water lines, or similar service in HVAC, plumbing, and light industrial applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the typical installers for this fitting type.
This valve sees common use in residential and light commercial systems where a small-diameter drain or vent point is needed. Typical applications include condensate drain lines, air line drains, and low-pressure water supply shutoffs. The compression fitting end allows connection to 1/4 inch OD tubing without soldering, making it practical for service work in tight spaces or on systems where open flame is not permitted. The 1/8 inch male pipe thread end fits standard NPT ports on equipment housings, manifolds, and drain tappings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for low-pressure drain cock applications using 1/4 inch OD compression tubing and 1/8 inch NPT male pipe thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any valve. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten, as brass fittings are susceptible to thread and seat damage from excessive torque. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before making the NPT connection.
