The PARKER T23R20A is a string-wound polypropylene cotton cartridge filter designed for residential and light commercial water filtration systems. Measuring 20 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, this filter delivers a 5-micron rating that captures sediment, dirt, sand, and particulate from potable and process water lines. The string-wound construction creates a graduated density profile, trapping larger particles at the outer layers and progressively finer particles toward the core. The polypropylene plastic core adds structural rigidity and resists moisture-related degradation during service. Plumbers and water treatment technicians install this filter as a point-of-entry or point-of-use sediment stage ahead of carbon blocks, softeners, or RO membranes.
This cartridge is suited for standard 2.5-inch-diameter filter housings in residential whole-house sediment applications, well water pre-filtration, irrigation pre-treatment, and light industrial process water lines. It is rated for use at water temperatures up to 120 degrees F, making it appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature supply lines. Installation in heated water or high-temperature process lines beyond the rated maximum is not recommended. Verify housing compatibility by confirming the 2.5-inch OD and 20-inch length match your existing sump before ordering.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the supply water and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or damage and replace it if necessary before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature or pressure of the housing assembly.
