The PARKER PT-00278 is a stainless steel flared tube male adapter designed for high-pressure fluid and gas line connections in demanding industrial and mechanical systems. It features a 37-degree flare end on one side and a 3/4-14 NPTF threaded end on the other, creating a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal between flared tubing and NPT-ported components. With a maximum working pressure of 2,600 psi static and a temperature range of -425 degrees F to 1,200 degrees F, this fitting handles extreme service conditions. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in aggressive media. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers.
This adapter is used in hydraulic lines, pneumatic systems, refrigeration circuits, and industrial fluid transfer applications where a transition from 3/4-inch OD flared tubing to a male NPTF port is required. The Flare x NPTF end configuration makes it well suited for connecting stainless tubing runs to pumps, valves, manifolds, and instrumentation. It is appropriate for both residential-grade mechanical systems and commercial or light-industrial process piping. The package includes 2 fittings per order.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch OD flared stainless steel tubing terminating to a 3/4-14 NPTF male threaded port; conforms to SAE J514, SAE 070102, and ISO 8434-2 flare fitting standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or hydraulic technician familiar with flared tube fitting assembly. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure the tube end is properly flared to a 37-degree angle using the correct flaring tool before assembly; an improperly flared seat will not seal. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but consult applicable codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3 for piping system requirements in your jurisdiction.
