The PARKER PT-00002 is a brass flared tube nut designed for use with 1/2-inch outside diameter tubing and a 37-degree flare angle. This fitting nut threads onto a mating flare fitting body to create a leak-resistant mechanical connection in refrigerant, fuel, hydraulic, and instrumentation line assemblies. Manufactured from brass, it provides good corrosion resistance and reliable seating against standard 37-degree JIC and AN flare fittings. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics routinely use this nut when assembling or repairing flared tubing connections in both residential and light commercial applications.
The PT-00002 is suited for installations where 1/2-inch OD soft copper, aluminum, or compatible tubing is joined using the 37-degree flare method. Common applications include refrigerant line sets, fuel oil lines, hydraulic control circuits, and low-pressure instrumentation tubing. It is typically used alongside a matching flare body fitting and a properly flared tube end prepared with a quality flaring tool. This nut is sold in packages of 50, making it practical for service trucks and shop stock.
Designed for use with standard 37-degree flare fitting bodies accepting 1/2-inch outside diameter tubing in refrigerant, hydraulic, fuel, and instrumentation piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician, plumber, or pipefitter familiar with flared tubing assemblies. Before disassembly or replacement, isolate and depressurize the line and comply with applicable codes such as IFGC, IPC, or local mechanical codes. The tube end must be properly flared to the correct 37-degree angle using an appropriate flaring tool before the nut is torqued onto the fitting body. Overtightening can crack the flare or cross-thread the nut, so follow fitting manufacturer torque guidance where available.
