The PARKER P00097 is a steel flared tube plug designed to seal 3/16 inch OD tubing with a 37-degree flare end connection. It is used to cap off open flare fittings in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-transfer lines. The plug conforms to a 37-degree JIC flare seat and is rated for demanding service conditions, with a maximum working pressure of 7500 psi and a maximum working temperature of 500 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and HVAC mechanics install this fitting when blanking an unused port or capping a line during system service or expansion.
This plug is suited for use in hydraulic systems, refrigeration and HVAC tubing circuits, pneumatic lines, and other high-pressure fluid systems where a 37-degree flare port must be sealed. Its compact size makes it practical in tight equipment enclosures and manifold assemblies. The P00097 is sold in packages of 5, making it a practical bench stock item for shops that regularly service flare-fitting systems.
Designed for use with 3/16 inch OD tubing and 37-degree flare fittings conforming to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2. Compatible with hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-transfer systems using JIC-style flare connections.
Installation is performed by hydraulic technicians, pipefitters, or licensed HVAC mechanics. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing any existing fitting or installing this plug. Thread the plug into the mating flare fitting by hand first, then tighten with the appropriate wrench to ensure full metal-to-metal contact at the flare seat. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the flare seating surface.
