The PARKER N23R10A is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 10 inches in length, with a 5-micron rating that captures fine sediment, sand, rust particles, and other suspended solids from potable and process water lines. The nylon string-wound construction wraps a polypropylene plastic core, providing chemical resistance and structural integrity at operating temperatures up to 120 degrees F. This filter is installed by plumbers and water treatment technicians in residential and light commercial filtration systems.
The N23R10A fits standard 10-inch filter housings used in whole-house filtration setups, under-sink pre-filtration stages, and point-of-entry water treatment systems. The 5-micron rating makes it well suited for pre-filtering ahead of softeners, carbon blocks, or reverse osmosis membranes where sediment loading is a concern. It is commonly installed on municipal water supplies and well water systems where particulate control is required before water reaches fixtures or downstream equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 10-inch plumbing filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridge.
Shut off the water supply and relieve pressure from the filter housing before removing the spent cartridge. A housing wrench is typically required to unseat the sump. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace it if cracked or deformed before reinstalling the cap. Follow applicable IPC guidelines for potable water filtration installations, and verify the cartridge flow direction matches the housing inlet and outlet orientation.
