The PARKER MBA5M30 is a thermally bonded meltblown polypropylene filter cartridge rated at 5 microns, designed to remove sediment, particulate, and dirt from liquid process streams. At 30 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, it fits standard large-format filter housings used in commercial and industrial water treatment, plumbing pre-filtration, and point-of-entry systems. The all-polypropylene construction — body, core, and media — makes it compatible with a wide range of liquids and suitable for service up to 180 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, water treatment technicians, and facilities maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
The MBA5M30 is well suited for sediment pre-filtration upstream of softeners, RO membranes, UV systems, and other water treatment equipment in both light commercial and industrial applications. It handles flow rates up to 15 GPM, making it appropriate for whole-building or process-line filtration duties where consistent sediment removal at 5 microns is required. Its meltblown construction provides graded-density filtration, capturing larger particles in the outer layers and finer particles toward the core, which extends service life between cartridge changes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 30-inch filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter meltblown cartridge in liquid filtration applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or water treatment technician. Shut off the supply line and relieve system pressure completely before removing the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring and replace it if worn or cracked before seating the new cartridge. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for potable water systems when selecting housing and cartridge materials.
