The PARKER MBA30M40 is a thermally bonded meltblown polypropylene filter cartridge rated at 30 microns, designed to remove sediment, particulate, and dirt from liquid process streams. At 40 inches in length and 2.5 inches in outside diameter, it fits standard large-format filter housings used in commercial and industrial water treatment, HVAC makeup water, and plumbing prefiltration applications. The all-polypropylene construction — media, core, and outer cage — makes it chemically compatible with a wide range of liquids and eliminates fiber migration. Licensed plumbers, water treatment technicians, and facilities maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This cartridge is suited for residential and light commercial liquid filtration systems where sediment control is the primary objective. Common applications include point-of-entry water filtration, boiler feed prefiltration, cooling tower makeup water, and industrial process water lines. The 30-micron rating targets coarse-to-medium particulate, making it effective as a first-stage prefilter upstream of tighter-rated cartridges or membrane systems. Maximum operating temperature is 180 degrees F, and maximum flow rate is 20 GPM, which supports most standard housing configurations at this cartridge size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard large-format liquid filter housings accepting 40-inch cartridges with a 2.5-inch outside diameter. Verify housing inner diameter and end-cap style before installation.
Shut off the water supply and depressurize the filter housing completely before removing the spent cartridge. Plumbers and water treatment technicians should follow local plumbing code (IPC) requirements for filter system installations, including proper bypass provisions where required. Wet hands and surfaces are the primary slip hazard during cartridge change-out — use a housing wrench rated for the housing size. Do not exceed the 180-degree-F temperature or 20 GPM flow rate limits stated by the manufacturer.
