The PARKER MBA1M20 is a thermally bonded meltblown polypropylene filter cartridge rated at 1 micron, designed to remove sediment, particulate, and dirt from liquid systems. At 20 inches in length and 2.5 inches in outside diameter, it fits standard 20-inch filter housings used in water treatment, industrial process lines, and commercial plumbing applications. The all-polypropylene construction — media, core, and shell — resists a broad range of chemicals and supports a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F. Meltblown construction creates a graded density matrix that traps particles throughout the depth of the media rather than only at the surface, extending service life between changeouts.
This cartridge is suited for residential and light commercial liquid filtration systems where fine sediment control is required at the point of entry, point of use, or pre-filter stage ahead of membranes and other sensitive equipment. Plumbers and water treatment technicians install this cartridge in standard 20-inch big-blue or slim-line filter housings. It handles a maximum flow rate of 10.00 GPM, making it appropriate for whole-house or commercial pre-treatment applications where flow demand is moderate and fine filtration is critical.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement cartridge for standard 20-inch filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter meltblown cartridge in liquid filtration service.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or water treatment technicians. Shut off the supply line and relieve system pressure completely before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing o-ring for wear and replace if needed before seating the new cartridge. Follow local plumbing code requirements (IPC) for potable water applications and verify the housing pressure rating is compatible with system operating pressure before returning the system to service.
