The PARKER M19R20A is a string-wound plumbing cartridge filter designed for sediment removal in residential and light commercial water treatment applications. Wound from polypropylene cotton over a polypropylene plastic core, it delivers 10-micron filtration across a full 20-inch filter length. The FDA-grade materials make it suitable for potable water systems where material compliance matters. Plumbers and water treatment technicians install this filter in standard 2.5-inch OD housing assemblies as part of whole-house or point-of-entry filtration setups. The string-wound construction creates a graded density that traps sediment throughout the depth of the media, extending service life compared to surface-only filters.
This filter is suited for residential whole-house filtration, well water sediment pre-treatment, and commercial point-of-entry systems where 10-micron particulate control is required. Its 20-inch length fits big-blue and standard 20-inch filter housings. Typical applications include pre-filtration ahead of water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and UV disinfection units. Maximum service temperature is rated at 120 degrees F, keeping it appropriate for cold and ambient-temperature water lines rather than hot water service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 20-inch string-wound cartridge filter housings with a 2.5-inch inside diameter seat.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or water treatment professionals. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure fully before removing the existing filter housing and cartridge. Inspect housing o-rings for wear and replace as needed before seating the new cartridge. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for potable water filter installations.
