The PARKER L216P-8-6 is a brass hex plug fitting used to close off or reduce an open female pipe port in fluid and gas piping systems. It features a 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch male MNPTF (dryseal) thread configuration, allowing it to seal without a separate thread sealant compound when properly torqued. Rated to 1000 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this plug is built for demanding commercial and industrial piping applications. The lead-free brass construction meets potable water service requirements. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC mechanics install this type of fitting during system assembly, repair, and pressure testing.
The L216P-8-6 is suited for use in compressed air, hydraulic, and potable water plumbing systems where a reliable pipe port closure is required. The MNPTF dryseal thread form is commonly specified in pneumatic and hydraulic component assemblies, fuel delivery systems, and process plumbing where thread-seal integrity is critical. Its compact hex body allows standard wrench access in tight panel or manifold installations. This fitting is packaged individually and is appropriate for both new construction and service replacement work.
Designed for use with potable water systems and compatible with compressed air, hydraulic, and general fluid piping applications using MNPTF female-threaded ports. Suitable wherever SAE J530 and SAE J531 compliant pipe fittings are specified.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using a standard open-end or adjustable wrench on the hex body. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any pipe plug. MNPTF dryseal threads are designed to seal on thread contact, but applying PTFE tape or pipe thread sealant compatible with the service fluid is common practice to ensure a leak-free joint. Follow applicable IPC and IFGC code requirements for the specific fluid service and jurisdiction.
