The PARKER KP17580 is a steel flared tube connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power lines. It joins a 1-1/4 inch OD flared tube to a National Pipe Taper Fuel (NPTF) port using a 37-degree flare seating angle. The fitting is rated for a maximum working pressure of 3,000 psi, making it suitable for demanding industrial and mobile equipment applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of connector when routing steel tubing into threaded NPTF ports on manifolds, pumps, cylinders, or valves. The NPTF thread form creates a dry-seal connection that relies on thread interference rather than a separate sealant.
This connector is used in industrial hydraulic systems, mobile equipment, and fluid transfer lines where a rigid steel tube must terminate at an NPTF-threaded port. Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or hydraulic technician familiar with SAE flare fittings and NPTF thread standards. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic or fluid line completely before disassembly or fitting installation. Inspect the tube flare for cracks or out-of-round deformation before seating the fitting. Overtightening an NPTF dry-seal connection can crack the flare or distort the threads, so follow standard torque practice for the fitting size and material.
