The PARKER GTC-6 is a compression tube union fitting designed to create a leak-tight, inline connection between two sections of tubing without soldering, threading, or adhesives. The union body and grip components are constructed from Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), materials selected for outstanding chemical resistance and low friction in demanding fluid-handling applications. Rated for 3/8 inch tube outside diameter, this fitting accepts standard compression tubing and produces a secure, repositionable joint. It is typically installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working with high-purity or chemically aggressive media lines.
This compression union is suited for use in laboratory fluid systems, semiconductor process lines, chemical distribution piping, and similar applications where metal fittings are incompatible with the process media. PFA and PTFE construction makes it appropriate for acids, solvents, and other corrosive fluids that would degrade metal or standard plastic fittings. The plastic grip-style compression mechanism allows installation with basic hand tools and does not require specialty tubing prep beyond a clean, square cut.
Designed as an OEM-style compression union for 3/8 inch OD tubing in chemical process, laboratory, and high-purity fluid distribution systems where PFA or PTFE wetted materials are required.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters familiar with compression fitting procedures for fluoropolymer tubing. Before installing or servicing, isolate and depressurize the fluid line completely and verify the tubing end is cut square and free of burrs. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then apply only the torque necessary to achieve a leak-free seal per the fitting manufacturer guidance, as overtightening fluoropolymer fittings can crack the union body. Verify the completed joint under operating pressure before returning the system to service.
