The PARKER GSC-6 is a compression tube union designed to join two lengths of tubing in a straight-line configuration. The fitting body is constructed from PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), making it well suited for high-purity fluid handling, chemical transfer lines, and applications where resistance to aggressive media is required. The plastic grip-type compression mechanism locks onto the tube upon tightening, providing a reliable seal. This fitting is typically installed by plumbers, process piping technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals working with fluoropolymer tubing systems.
The GSC-6 is used in fluid handling systems where chemical compatibility with aggressive solvents, acids, or high-purity process fluids is necessary. Shut off and depressurize the fluid line completely before disconnecting or installing any compression fitting. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely, and that the tube end is fully seated into the fitting body before tightening the compression nut. Avoid over-tightening, as plastic compression components can crack under excessive torque; follow the fitting manufacturer guidance for hand-tight-plus turns.
