The PARKER FP718-1 is a pleated, resin-bonded cartridge filter designed for liquid filtration in commercial and industrial plumbing systems. Constructed from resin cellulose media, it delivers a 1-micron absolute filtration rating, capturing fine particulate that would otherwise compromise downstream equipment or process quality. At 18 inches long with a 6.25-inch outside diameter, this is a high-capacity filter element suited for high-flow housings where extended service intervals matter. It is rated for fluid temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for hot-water and process-water applications. Licensed plumbers and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This filter cartridge is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial water treatment systems, particularly in applications requiring tight particulate removal at 1 micron. Typical installations include process water lines, pre-filtration ahead of RO membranes, boiler feed water systems, and general plumbing supply lines where sediment and fine particulate control is critical. The pleated media design increases surface area over standard wound or melt-blown elements, extending filter life in moderate-load applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement cartridge for standard 18-inch pleated cartridge filter housings that accept a 6.25-inch OD element. Verify housing inside diameter and cartridge length before installation.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or qualified maintenance technician. Shut off the supply line and relieve system pressure completely before removing the filter housing. Inspect housing O-rings and sealing surfaces before seating the new cartridge. Follow applicable IPC guidelines and the housing manufacturer's torque specifications for the sump cap.
