The PARKER FAMS-68 is a compression tube male straight adapter designed to connect 3/8-inch OD tubing to a 1/2-inch NPT male thread. Constructed from Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), this fitting delivers excellent chemical resistance and low permeability, making it well suited for aggressive fluid handling and high-purity process lines. The plastic grip compression design eliminates the need for ferrule tools, allowing technicians to achieve a reliable, leak-resistant seal without soldering or flaring. It is a single-piece, ready-to-install fitting appropriate for plumbing, chemical processing, and specialty fluid system applications.
This adapter is used in systems that require a transition from compression-style tubing to a standard NPT threaded male port. Common applications include instrumentation lines, chemical injection systems, laboratory fluid distribution, and specialty plumbing circuits where fluoropolymer materials are required to resist corrosive media. The Tube x NPT configuration makes it a practical choice wherever OD-referenced tubing meets a threaded pipe fitting or valve body. The fitting is packaged individually and is suitable for both new construction and service replacement work.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for use with 3/8-inch OD fluoropolymer or compatible tubing terminating at a 1/2-inch NPT male threaded port in fluid handling and instrumentation systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber or instrumentation technician familiar with compression fittings and NPT thread connections. Shut off system pressure and depressurize all lines before disassembly or installation. Apply appropriate thread sealant or tape to the NPT threads per manufacturer guidance and applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Avoid overtightening the compression nut, as fluoropolymer fittings can be damaged by excessive torque; hand-tight plus the manufacturer-recommended turns is the standard practice for compression fittings of this type.
