The PARKER FAFS-46 is a compression tube female straight adapter designed for 1/4-inch tube outside diameter connections. Built from Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) materials, this fitting delivers strong chemical resistance and reliable sealing in demanding fluid-handling systems. It uses a plastic grip-type compression mechanism, allowing secure tube connections without metal tooling. At 0.05 pounds, it is a lightweight single-piece fitting suited for instrumentation, chemical process lines, and other tubing applications where corrosion resistance and purity are required. Licensed plumbers, instrumentation technicians, and process piping professionals are the typical installers.
This adapter is used in residential and commercial applications where PFA or PTFE tubing must terminate at a female-threaded port. Common install scenarios include chemical feed systems, laboratory instrumentation, pneumatic controls, and fluid transfer lines that require inert, non-reactive fittings. The compression design allows for straightforward field installation without adhesives or solvent welding. It is sold and packaged individually as a single-unit fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for use with 1/4-inch OD PFA or PTFE tubing in fluid-handling, instrumentation, and chemical process piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or instrumentation technicians following applicable piping codes. Before installing or removing any compression fitting, depressurize and drain the line completely. Hand-tighten the compression nut first to seat the ferrule, then apply only the additional turns specified by standard compression fitting practice — do not overtighten plastic fittings, as over-torquing can crack the body or deform the ferrule. Verify tube end is cut square and deburred before insertion to ensure a leak-free seal.
