Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing this valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape appropriate for the service fluid to the NPTF threads before installation. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to bring the fitting to proper engagement without overtightening, which can crack brass fittings. Work should follow applicable plumbing and mechanical codes including IPC and IFGC guidelines where relevant.
