The PARKER DC603-6 is a brass male pipe drain cock shutoff valve designed for liquid drainage and flow shutoff in plumbing and fluid-handling systems. It features a 3/8-18 NPTF threaded connection and is rated to 150 psi maximum working pressure. The brass body provides corrosion resistance and durability across a wide service temperature range, down to -65 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this valve in compressed air lines, water distribution systems, and other low-to-medium pressure fluid circuits where a reliable drain or bleed point is required.
This drain cock is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Typical uses include tank drain ports, boiler drain points, compressed air system low points, and inline shutoff service in copper or threaded pipe assemblies. The NPTF thread form creates a pressure-tight seal on metal-to-metal contact, reducing reliance on thread sealants in many installations. The compact size and lightweight construction make it easy to fit in tight equipment bays or mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drain cock for threaded pipe systems using 3/8-18 NPTF connections in plumbing, compressed air, and fluid-handling applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing any existing fitting or installing this valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape as required by local plumbing codes, though NPTF threads are designed for dry sealing on metal seats. Verify the system working pressure does not exceed the 150 psi rating before returning the line to service.
