The PARKER CAP.1163.10 is a nonmetallic breather filter designed to protect hydraulic reservoirs, gearboxes, and fluid storage tanks from airborne contamination. As pressure differentials cause air to enter a vented system, this breather traps particulate at a 10 micron rating before it can degrade fluid or damage downstream components. The body is constructed from nitrile and nylon with a steel cap, and the unit mounts to the top of the reservoir. It handles a maximum working pressure of 5 psi and a maximum working temperature of 195 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and mobile hydraulic applications.
This breather is used in fluid power systems where vented reservoirs require contamination control. Typical installations include stationary hydraulic power units, mobile equipment, and industrial machinery with oil-filled gearboxes or sumps. Maintenance technicians and fluid power mechanics install this part during scheduled filter service or when replacing worn breathers on top-mounted reservoir ports. The 3 inch outside diameter and 6.04 inch overall length fit standard top-mount breather ports found across common reservoir designs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement breather for hydraulic reservoirs, gearboxes, and fluid storage tanks equipped with top-mount breather ports accepting a 3 inch diameter breather.
Installation is performed by qualified fluid power mechanics or maintenance technicians. Before replacing the breather, relieve any system pressure and wipe the port area clean to prevent contamination from entering the reservoir during the swap. Thread or seat the breather securely per the equipment manufacturer torque guidance. Dispose of the used filter element in accordance with local regulations for oil-wetted filter media.
